A Protein Poem (2011)
I was never girly growing up.
It never really appealed to me,
I don’t understand it,
what is it going to add to your life?
There is that rush of being able to change your own body,
why else would you do it?
I have changed so much in the last year.
I don’t know if I could pick one,
that would stay the same,
I’m going to wake up in like a week,
when I walk it kind of bobbles.
I don’t really like it,
I don’t understand,
it was supposed to make it even better.
In a way,
not having any of that,
was my own way,
of sticking it to the man.
