Paleontology Barbie

A Protein Poem

A Protein Poem (2011)

I got the Paleontology Barbie.

She’s trifling,
like a cat in a hat,
he’s a strange creature too.

If you could be a dinosaur,
what would you be?
the most important dinosaur,
Raptor Jesus.

Now I want to be the cool eco-macho dude, but
I’d be terrified to live in the ocean, and
I get freaked out by amusement park rides.

No, I want to be a magician,
I could just fly away, fly around the world,
gardens on top of roofs, pandas tigers, and lions.

You don’t need national parks to be outside,
you don’t need giant fences and walls,
I just want natural marvels, but
everyone’s cutting down trees.

I think I’ll just grow feet today,
now I help people instead of animals,
I stayed pretty true.

I would be Raptor Jesus,
the most important dinosaur.

Like a sky terrorist,
giant fences and walls.

It can,
spike is so sad.

I love national parks,
natural marvels,
Like the Loch Ness Monster.

You don’t need to cut down trees,
everyone’s cutting down trees,
the Lorax was banned.

They have one hanging from the ceiling,
it’s used for anti-abortion ads,
“a person’s a person no matter how small,”
life inside the meteor,
like Horton Hears a Who.

Pandas tigers and lions,
want to protect them,
fly around the world.

This is a Protein Poem from one of the very first rounds back in 2010.  If you remember participating in this poem, comment with your role. We’d love to hear back from you!
